Email meMy name’s Lewis Hamilton (formerly a very normal name) and I’m a photographer and videographer based in London.
I grew up in a small market town in north-west Cumbria where, despite my love of art, I had little sense of what a creative career looked like. After graduating from Durham University, I started out in marketing, hoping to find a creative outlet. Two years in, I wasn’t having the creative impact I’d imagined, and working alongside design and photo agencies introduced me to roles I hadn’t known existed. I wondered if I’d taken the wrong path, but felt behind those with creative degrees.

Then, in my marketing role at an early-stage startup, an opportunity arose to create some video content. I’d been a keen photographer for a few years, shooting whenever I was home in the Lake District or away on holiday, so I jumped at the chance to take it further. Many late nights followed as I became obsessed with teaching myself to edit, determined to catch up. I learned everything I could from YouTube tutorials, calls and messages with anyone who’d give me their time, and plenty of trial and error.
In the years that followed, I moved into full-time content roles, building on those foundations in both photography and videography, across equipment, shooting, and editing.

Today I work in-house at MOTH Drinks, producing photo and video year-round across digital campaigns, events and partnerships. This has included collaborations with brands such as Topshop, Dishoom, Wagamama, YO! Sushi and Honest Burger. Alongside this, I take on freelance work.

If you have a project in mind, I’d love to hear about it.
